The Rockstead CHOU-DLC is a compact Japanese neck knife whose distinctive blade profile is inspired by the naginata, the traditional Japanese polearm. Its full-tang construction is deliberately simple: the YXR7 blade and handle form a single continuous piece, finished in black DLC and wrapped with Japanese silk cord for a secure, lightweight grip. The cord wrapping also gives the CHOU a distinctly traditional character without adding unnecessary bulk. The blade uses Rockstead’s Shinogizukuri geometry, combining a clearly defined blade form with high-hardness YXR7 steel and Rockstead’s DLC surface treatment. Despite its compact dimensions, the CHOU is a fully functional fixed blade rather than a miniature display piece. Its slim profile and Kydex sheath make it well suited to neck carry or use as a compact secondary knife. The CHOU-DLC is supplied with its original Kydex sheath and silk cord wrapping.
